Petition Letter
Hello,
My name is Logan Semple and I was under the impression that I had graduated after finishing my exams in December. After applying for convocation I had received an email on Thu 14/01/2016 3:53 PM from Andrea Labelle describing that this was not the case. It was stated that I needed 3.0 units in order to satisfy my program requirements. Amidst the confusion I decided to check my Academic Advisement Report on Solus and discovered that the mark was missing from my Geography minor plan even though Andrea Labelle had mentioned in her email that it was an elective. I was very confused but knew I had indeed completed my GPHY Minor as I had filled out many plan assessment forms. Today after several emails with Andrea Labelle my Academic Advisement Report was re-ran and changed. It was clear now that I needed to add an elective in order to fill my program requirements not a Geography course to fulfill my Minor like Solus had displayed before hand.
In a quick scramble to survey which courses were available I was pleased to see Dram 211 ¿¿Introduction to Theatre for Young Audiences¿, an online course which is an area of interest as I have previously taken Dram 205 Theatre in the Age of Film & TV and did well (A-). I realize it is late but the reason I would like to do this now and finish this term is because I would like to apply for programs/graduate programs next fall and this would need to be finished. Taking courses in the summer would delay my progress and my hold options that would be available to me if I finished now. I have emailed the professor, Craig Walker to let him know that I would like to add the course and that I would be sending in an appeal. I realize it is a couple weeks in but I am happy to stay in contact with the professor to discuss what I missed, I am willing and able to make up the missed time as this course is the only thing I have planned for myself right now. I only need 3.0 units to satisfy my program requirements and graduate, so taking this course will give me the units in order to complete my goal of graduating.
Thank you for your attention to this. I am looking forward to your response.
