Petition Letter
During the process of studying for my fall term exams I received the news that my brother unexpectedly passed away on December 14th. After completing my Calculus exam (MATH 121) on December 15th I was brought to the student wellness services building (LaSalle building) and was told the tragic news. I spoke with Mary Acreman in the LaSalle building who told me she would contact my professors about putting my studies on academic hold until I felt comfortable to return to Queens. I left Queen's on December 16th and have returned back for the winter term. I believe I did enough course work (more than 60) to receive Aegrotat standing for CISC 101 and 102. I was keeping up well with course material and was doing well in both these courses. I would like to receive Aegrotat standing because I do not want the family issue that unexpectedly happened to hinder my academics in the winter term.
