Academic Plan
While this was how second year ended for me, I have a positive outlook for my plans at Queen's University for next year. My academic plan consists of taking a light course load. I will only enroll in three courses per semester, while retaking courses in which I have fared poorly. These courses include CISC 220, STAT 263 and CISC 235. In addition, I will also seek support from disability services to see how my back can be aided day-to-day in a classroom setting. I will continue to attend physiotherapy and massage therapy to ensure continued progress for my condition. Lastly, I will seek upper year tutors and meet with them on a frequent basis in order to receive the academic support to successfully complete my courses next year. A list of these tutors can be found on the Computing Students Association website, under resources.
My current summer job as a Junior Analyst at Royal Bank of Canada has instilled the interest and importance of my degree. I do not want to take a year away from Queen's because I have made it my home, and my program has become my passion. Despite the difficulties I have faced this past year, no one wants to be told they cannot return home. So please, allow me to persevere through my degree at Queen's and make a full recovery - both physically and academically - in the community that welcomed me so openly two years ago.
