Petition Letter
Hi, faculty of arts & science,
I would like to apply an academic appeal for dropping my online biology course at this late stage. I have missed four weeks of school since the beginning of semester due to an acupuncture accident caused by over pressure of the needle which poked my lung resulted as my lung got collapsed. I received surgery at Toronto General Hospital and spent four weeks to get recovered in Toronto. The X-ray check appointment was scheduled after Feb 2nd, before that, I spent a month in Toronto for getting recovery from the surgery. I returned to school in Feb and had been trying to catch up all missing lectures, tutorials, and labs. I added this online biology course roughly at the end of Jan this semester. But I found it particularly hard to catch up. It is hard to form a complete understanding of the concepts with few practices, especially I was also trying to catch up all the other four subjects. I talked to my Professor Kento about my circumstance and decided to drop this course and focus more on the other four subjects which are the most important subjects for my upper year study. I also made level transfer of both of my math courses, so it makes it easier to pass and move to my 2nd year. It takes some time for my surgery doctor to write medical proof and withdraw my documents. The surgery record and medical proof will be provided later before March 20th if it is processed fast. The document will prove that I received the chest surgery and had missed four weeks of school due to the inconvenience of my health condition.
