Petition Letter
Due to the death of my grandmother passing away in late September, I was unable to successfully pass my fall course of PSYC333. There were many extenuating circumstances that resulted in health issues of anxiety that were severe enough it debilitated my ability to focus on my courses and school work. Missing the midterm of PSYC333 was a result of the anxiety and in turn resulted in my unsuccessful pass of the course. I was unable to organize my class work and time because I was so focused on anxiety management. My grandmother's death was a result of a brain aneurysm that she had survived a few years ago, but it finally got the best of her. I have had health issues since I was a young teenager, and her passing triggered health anxiety within myself that was extremely difficult to deal with most days. I have since spoken to my physician and am now in my third month of chiropractic treatment that has helped my pain management to the point where I almost feel like a new person. I have spoken to the professor of the course (Dr. Emma Dargie), and have obtained documentation from my physician's office which will be sent with the appeal.
