Petition Letter
To: The office of the associate dean arts and science
Do to the death of my father I regret to inform you that I will be unable to complete Econ 112. I spoke with Prof. Berkok in the week following my fathers death. He graciously agreed to accommodate me. However dealing the estate matters has become a second full-time job and I've been unable to catch up as I had hoped. Further more I simple can't focus these days, which is the bulk of the problem I feel.
Ive enrolled in a course for the summer, and look forward to getting back on track. ECON 112 is an online course next offered in the fall I intend on taking the course again at that time.
My formal request is that I be allowed to drop ECON 122 at this point without academic penalty. Please accept the globe and mail obituary in the place of a formal death certificate. However if you require a formal death certificate I will provide one. Further more in an effort to provide more detail I will be providing a physicians note.
After returning to studies last fall I faced an up hill battle, I finished strong and intend on keeping that momentum through the summer and into the fall.
