Petition Letter
I received a letter from the Queen's Department of Financial Services, saying that I owe a total of 5129.95, for the fall and winter semester of 2014-2015. During this time I was enrolled in St. Lawrence College, and actively taking classes at their school. I tried to withdraw from Queen's in August, throughout until I started at St. Lawrence college in September. I originally went to the Queen's Registrar to withdraw. They told me to go to my faculty coordinator. My faculty proceeded to tell me to go to the Registrar. When I went back to the registrar, they sent me back to the faculty. No matter what I did, I could not withdraw. On top of these difficulties, I have a learning disability, that I got an official form from a neurologist in Peterborough for. My experience with Queen's administration has been very frustrating, as my needs for help with my disability also got buried in administrative issues, and was never properly dealt with. In September, I was not aware I was signed up for classes, and nobody told me I had to drop them. I did not attend any classes at queen's in 2014-2015. During this time, I used my St. Lawrence student card to use the gym, and to use the Kingston bus system. I did not use any services from Queen's during this time period. I would like to appeal to get this fee of 5129.95 removed from my account, as I did not use any services from Queen's during the 2014-2015 time period.
