Petition Letter
To whom it may concern,
I would like to file an appeal for an Aegrotat standing for HIST295. In first and second semester, I struggled with several physical health issues on top of existing mental health issues. Due to those complications, I took an incomplete in HIST 295; I wrote the exam with my class, but was unable to write the second essay, worth 35 of my final mark. I had surgery on January 13th, but rather than resolving all health problems, they uncovered a tumour on my liver. This caused more stress on top of everything else this semester. My mother ¿¿ a single parent, has not been able to find employment for over a year and in the last two weeks I have been trying to help her pack up our home of 15 years. I intended to write the essay in the month of April once the rest of my course work and exams had finished, but have needed to deal with the current circumstances making it difficult to complete the essay. My mental health has needed to take priority over academics, especially as my diagnosis has changed for the worse due to the stress of my situation. The medication I was on made me rather debilitated, and I am seeing a psychiatrist at the end of April for a change. I have been in constant contact with Queen¿¿s Health regarding my situation, primarily with Dr. Susan Ngo, as well as Dr. Kenny who can both verify the information that I have disclosed. If there is any further information required please contact me at 647 825 2311 or 13fav1@queensu.ca.
Thank you,
Faith Villanueva
