Petition Letter
My name is Usman Baig and I'm a Queen's APEC student. This past winter term I took Econ 351 and did fairly well throughout most of the course (100 assignment average, 87 & 94 on the two midterms), however I did fairly poorly on the final exam (50) and this dropped my grade significantly (A+ to a B). I would like to submit a formal appeal into the results of my final exam in order to see if I may be able to gain more marks and raise my grade for the course. The rationale behind raising my grade is that I have strong aspirations to apply to various postgraduate economics programs and for that I need at least an A- in the course which is a mandatory requirement for many of these programs. My course mark prior to the exam was 92 but fell significantly after the exam. Therefore, I am filing an academic appeal in order to see if there is any possibility for me to gain additional marks to raise my grade and meet the requirement. I have already spoken to Professor Taylor Jaworski and the UG Chair Ian Keay and am hoping they can see my side of the story and provide any support.
Since I am applying for an academic appeal of my final exam, I need access to the corresponding materials however this is not available to me currently. Therefore, I would like to ask Professor Jaworski to give me access to my final exam and solutions in order to evaluate the results and formulate grounds for reconsideration.
I hope to hear from you soon.
Best Regards,
Usman Baig
