Re: Letter of Permission as a Visiting Student
To whom it may concern,
My name is Darby Tracey, I am a second year Classics student in the Faculty of Arts. I respectfully request that you review my application and transcripts to attend the University of British Columbia in the fall of 2016 as a visiting student within the Faculty of Arts and Science.
It is my hope that the Faculty committee understand some extenuating circumstances beyond my control that have ignited this request. I have taken every step to contribute to my education. Not only have I taken on two part-time jobs during the academic year, I have sought out additional tutoring services to assist my academic standing.
This is an opportunity for me to take advantage of family support while continuing to pursue my undergraduate degree within a University environment. Although I have thoroughly enjoyed my time at Queens, circumstances have forced me to consider other financial and personal options.
When I enrolled at Queens my family lived in Kingston, and my father was an employee within the Athletic and Recreation Department. Over the next couple of years, there have been significant challenges that have ultimately affected my growth as a person and my overall performance as a student. We have moved to Manitoba, and have now recently relocated to Vancouver BC. This has created additional and unwanted stress, financial burden and emotional fatigue for all of us.
I believe and I trust that the Faculty will agree that this opportunity with both the emotional and financial support of my family will allow me to succeed. Future decisions on funding and class selection and deadlines are pending.
Thank you for your consideration on this matter. I can be reached at my summer contact; Email 13dnt@queensu.ca or cell: (613) 305-0040; I look forward to hearing from you.
Yours Sincerely,
Darby N. Tracey
