Academic Plan
Academia is first and foremost the most important thing in my life right now, and words cannot express the precedence that it will take in my life moving forward. The library will be even more familiar to me than it has been in the past, and will be visited a minimum of 3 hours each day. More time dedicated to focused learning will be given, and if focus becomes more and more strenuous, I am prepared to medically correct that issue with the assistance of my physician and family.
Help will not be strayed from. Anxieties and insecurities have prevented me from properly seeking the necessary help required. I am aware of the multitude of outlets help is available in and will be utilising each and every one to the fullest extent. Office hours, TA hours, group studies, tutors, and experienced students are all examples of outlets that will fuel my academic success moving forward.
As far as course selection goes, rather than selecting all the more difficult heavy courses and clumping them together to complete in a stressful manner, I will be achieving a more balanced schedule. The balance will be between the number heavy mandatory courses, and the more writing based knowledge courses that seem to result in higher grades for me. This semester saw my highest grade to date in COMM 381, achieving what is only the beginning of worthy grades. In addition, to improve my academic standing in the future, it is part of the plan that the conclusion is to retake certain courses to raise my overall GPA further and to properly represent the reputability of Queen's.
Emotions will play a much smaller role in my academics in future endeavours. As many outlets that there are to help me in academics, I know that there are just as many to help with other struggles. My cynical scepticism will take a back seat to my more important and valid needs, which is my academic success.
