Petition Letter
Dear Associate Dean of Studies:
I am appealing requesting to waive the 21 day appeal deadline due to my notice from the school to withdraw from Queen's. I have been admitted back to the hospital for a final minor surgery. I understand that I have to appeal about this. However I have been in the hospital for a while now and received this withdrawal email notice very late due to not having access to my email. I am also not in the best state to type on my computer at the moment so I have been asking my family for support in typing this out.
My low GPA has been due to a result in F's in my past year due to not completing my exam. My doctor has approved of my being well after this week but he states that I do need to recover the next 2 months at home.
I have talked to my professors since the school year but they had all told me to appeal through student services to have an extension in my grades and this stress from the school has worsened my condition therefore I understand that the quicker I return to normal state and can finish my courses, the better I will feel mentally. I'd like to request that I am given permission to be back in Queen's. In order to complete the courses from last year I'd like to ask that I am given an extension on this year's courses and that I am given take home exams in order to eliminate the F's and thereby have a chance to write my final exams.
