Petition Letter
Dear Dr. Johanne Bénard
My name is Willa Jones, I have recently completed my third year in Physical and Health Education at Queen¿¿s University. I am appealing to drop STAT 263 (Summer, 2016) with no financial or academic penalties. Two weeks ago my father was diagnosed with leukemia and instantly I found it very hard to keep up with the demands of the class. I would have dropped the course earlier, but it is a requirement for the advanced standing track nursing program at Queen¿¿s. I was hoping to apply to this program next year, so I was feeling very conflicted when deciding whether or not to drop this course. I have now realized that I need to drop STAT 263 and take a break from my studies in order to be with my family at this time. When I am ready to continue at Queen¿¿s, I hope to retake this course in order to be considered for the nursing program.
