Academic Plan
As for my academic plan for the year coming up, I plan on continuing with my medication and taking between 3-4 courses per semester while factoring my disability into my expectations with the respect of the workload I will have. As well, I will retake RELS 161, PHIL 115, and WRIT 120 for the following year to contribute to raising my GPA. As I recently found out through an academic advisor, that I could retake some of my failed courses and they will contribute towards my overall GPA. If I were aware of this option during enrolment of 2013, I would not be in this predicament. Also, I will properly time manage my courses and my other priorities in my life so that I will not become overwhelmed. I will continue with seeing my tutor quite regularly, as well as going to my professors as I found that those two opportunities have helped me the most with understanding what is expected of me for my assignments and tests. At the beginning of the year I will meet with an academic advisor to see if the courses I have chosen are appropriate for my success in my studies to continue to guide me on the right path of my plan. As I am aiming to graduate with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Gender Studies, I know that this degree is appropriate in completing my studies at Queen¿¿s as it requires less units and is not as demanding for me. To conclude, the most important part of my academic plan with be continuing with treating my disability as I know that this will be the most affective influence in achieving good academic result.
