Petition Letter
Letter of Appeal January 27 2017
Dear Association Dean Sue Blake,
I am appealing the need to drop Netherlandish Art (ARTH 375) and switch the credit to Artwork as Material Object (ARTH 301). I have spoken to Professor Johanna Amos and gained her permission. I have been attending the class and feel sufficiently caught up in the material, enough so to complete an in-class response this morning. This situation was entirely my fault as I was under the impression that paying tuition on January 20th allowed me to switch my classes that day. I did not understand that payment takes processing time and would therefore limit my ability to complete this task before the add/drop deadline. I spoke to the faculty of Arts and Science on the phone and they explained to me my mistake and directed me to write a letter of appeal. I understand where I went wrong and am hoping this can be officially rectified. That being said, I also wish to switch my accounting course (COMM 212) to the corresponding online section. This switch has been approved by Elisa Mullins and again I need it to be officially documented. I have learned from my mistake and understand that my tuition must be paid early should I wish to add or drop a course before the deadline. I understand that this is a stress on the administration and it was not my intent to use their resources or time in this way. Thank you for your time and consideration of this appeal.
