Dear Dean J. Bénard:
I am Appealing for an AG Request for my following courses; Culture and Development 240, Political Studies 212 and Political Studies 261. Further, I am appealing to have my History 246 course exam changed to a venue in Kelowna BC as we discussed. Due to a concussion I received while playing Quidditch in my first semester and the ongoing symptoms I am still experiencing my doctor has recommended I return home to my parent¿¿s house and begin to have these symptoms investigated. I have enclosed a copy of the letter from my family physician.
When the concussion occurred in my first semester of year one I experienced blinding headaches, tremors, problems concentrating and staying focused. My physician had ordered a CT Scan for me which returned with normal results. The doctor told me that even though the CT was normal I would continue for some time to experience various symptoms with various degrees of intensity. Throughout my high school years, I consistently maintained an overall A average, and graduated from high school with an 86 overall average. Currently I find it difficult to string an intelligent sentence together and have more recently developed a stutter. My headaches are increasing, I am not able to concentrate and am finding it difficult to stay on task. In more recent days I find I am missing some classes, not going out with friends and basically just feeling depressed overall. My parents felt no matter what the outcome of this Appeal it would be better to come home as our doctor suggested. Even with everything that was happening to me physically and emotionally I still feel most of my marks have been very good and I would really appreciate it if I could finish my semester remotely.
I have contacted my Professors and the TAs, they are aware of my situation and agreed that I could continue the semester from home. I am aware that ultimately the decision is yours to make and I will abide by it. I will not be returning to Queen¿¿s University in September, I have decided to stay in Vernon, BC and continue my studies here.
