Petition Letter
Dear Associate Dean (Studies),
I am appealing to drop CISC 220 and WRIT 125 (Fall, 2016) beyond the academic deadline and requesting an aegrotat standing (AG) in CISC 365 (Fall, 2016).
For a long time now, I have been afflicted with chronic illness and consequently faced considerable difficulties in my personal life as well as my education. Although the severity and occurrence of my illness may vary, it has significantly hindered my academic progress and adversely affected my performance. For the past few terms, primarily the recent Fall term (2016), my ongoing health issues have caused me a great deal of trouble and distress. Due to the symptoms of my illness and related health complications, I was debilitated and unable to function properly. I had trouble concentrating on coursework, travelling and performing and completing tasks which were vital to my academic success in the courses I was enrolled in. As a result, I was unable to perform properly and this proved detrimental to my academic performance throughout the recent fall term. To improve my health and the overall situation, I sought assistance from healthcare professionals. However, it was relatively ineffective due to the frequency and severity of my health problems.
For the future, I plan on taking the appropriate steps to ensure I can perform to the best of my ability to achieve academic success. I am currently seeking help from healthcare professionals and will continue to undergo proper treatment with the aim of improving my overall health. I am also hoping to seek counsel from academic advisors at Queen¿¿s to determine the best course of action and an appropriate academic plan to advance successfully in my academic career. Thank you for your time and I look forward to your decision on this matter.
