Academic Plan
Associate Dean (Studies),
My academic plan involves proactive care of academics and proper prioritizing in order to ensure my goals are met.
In order to achieve academic success, I plan to deal with extenuating circumstances more appropriately and always prioritize my studies.
I wish to retake Psychology 100 during the summer in order to enhance my mark from my first year at Queen's and be added to my desires plan in second year. I currently do not have the minimum grade in psychology to be added to the plan, and through undivided attention, I wish to not only raise my individual psychology grade, but also my Grade Point Average. I am currently in good academic standing, however I believe that there is always room to further understand and enhance performance and knowledge.
My strategy for success is to prioritize academics over extenuating circumstances that would typically occupy my mind, and be proactive about my academic success even when dealing with physical injury. Having a strict focus on my goals as a student has been my priority for the majority of my time as a student, however I have previously let circumstances out of my control preoccupy my mind. Therefore, this took away from my focus as a student and weakened my performance. Therefore, through coping through a healthy outlet, such as speaking to a professional and using our school resources, I can achieve my goals. Additionally, by being proactive with an issue as soon as I detect an unbalance in where my attention is being spent, I can limit the damage on my grades. Moreover, when dealing with physical injury, such as a concussion, I will allow myself to remain focused on my academics while recovering.
There will always be situational demands, however through my academic plan I will remain on top of my school work and prioritize my goals while dealing with personal matters more appropriately. During the summer, my only other preoccupation is working part-time at the Huff Animal Hospital, therefore, I will have plenty of time to focus this one course.
Thank you for your consideration,
Best Regards,
