Academic Plan
Should I be allowed to return to Queen¿¿s in the Fall of 2017 my two main priorities will be my mental health and my academic standing. My primary goal will be to bring my academic standing high enough to no longer be on academic probation. This is a realistic goal which will help me maintain a level head while managing my anxiety. My secondary goal will be to bring my GPA up to a 3.00 ¿¿ 3.30 average. There are a few ways in which I plan to achieve this and why I am confidence that it is possible. Firstly, I will continue to attend sessions at the student wellness centre at Queen¿¿s to help me manage my anxiety and depression. Second I will consult as regularly as possible with academic advisors either in person or over the phone to ensure that I am on the right track with my courses. I also plan to be more open about my disorders to my Professor and TA¿¿s where it is appropriate. My mental health disorders have consumed my life for the last few years and this has changed for the better. While they are still part of who I am, I have accepted this and have already started learning strategies and techniques to help control my anxiety and keep my depression from controlling my actions. Mainly the goal of my academic is that now that I am making progress on managing my mental state I will be able to focus on school and I will prioritize my academics for my remaining years at Queen's.
