Academic Plan
I will be seeing a professional counsellor on a weekly basis in Toronto to continue addressing my mental health challenges.
An academic advisor suggested I look into courses with Athabasca University as they can be done on one's own time. I have enrolled myself in a reduced course load through their institution so I can prove to myself that I am capable of achieving my academic goals. More importantly, I am utilizing their student accommodation services and time management resources to ensure I keep on top of my studies. If successful, and if I pass the courses I have enrolled in, then I plan on transferring those credits to Queen's University and putting them towards my degree.
From there, I would like to enrol in a few Queen's courses again where I make regular check-in appointments with all of my professors. I will be much more aware of my personal struggles going forward and will not be registering for a full-course load, especially in circumstances that prohibit my ability to succeed.
