Petition Letter
To whom this may concern,
My name is Timothy Wilson and I am a 4th year political science student, with a minor in history. This past semester I had been studying at the Herstmonceux castle. I had received a message from my family that my mother had been diagnosed with cancer and we were uncertain about the extent of her illness. I had been notified early March of these disturbing revelations and was rendered unable to complete my coursework. Ultimately, I left to prioritize my mother¿¿s health at home. Over the course of the summer, I was able to complete one of my course¿¿s final essays on a course extension. Two papers remain, of which I have not been able to fully complete. My professor has been more than gracious in allocating a course extension date to the 15th of September. Unfortunately, over the course of the summer my responsibilities at home, caring for my mother and my siblings have prevented myself from finishing my final 2 papers. The illness has challenged my family in ways that we have never been before. I have spent everyday of the summer at home with my mother, unemployed, and consoling her and my siblings. I have been hard-pressed with the decision on whether or not I should return to school this year and remain with my mom. Under her recommendation, I have decided to finish my final year at Queen¿¿s and travel home every other week to London.
I ask for an extension as a means to completing this course. Thank you for your consideration.
Tim Wilson.
