Petition Letter
To whom this may concern,
My name is Alfred Andrew Groom, and I'm making this appeal to remove the 21-day deadline for appeals to have all courses from 2013-2014 removed from my transcript transcript. I've made an appeal in 2013 to have my grades removed from my transcript because my life had been disrupted for 2 years due to my mother dying in 2011. I was allowed to return, but unfortunately this 2013-2014 year I was plagued with a double bout of kidney stones. from October 2013 to January 2014, and March '14 to June '14, respectively, these prevented me from attending school and persisted into the summer. This illness left me dipping into what little savings I had, and at the same time I had to move to a new apartment. The result was that I was so poor from being sick that even once I was better and had assembled my appeal, I didn't have the funds to submit to remove my grades from last year for being so ill during the school year. Now that the hour is so late I've been forced to submit this second appeal to remove the deadline to alter my transcript and return to school (and had to borrow money from my roommate to finance it).
My margins of living have been extremely tight the past summer months. I make roughly 600-800/month, and pay 435/month for rent with approximately 65-70 a month in utilities. The rest has been for food and other essentials. Any other money comes from selling my personal belongings. I was forced to sell a ring I got from my grandmother to make rent at one point when my work had made a mistake on my paycheck and I needed money for rent immediately. I've managed to make my way by this year but I intend to apply for OSAP if I return to alleviate these problems, and I have a credit balance on my Queens account to help relieve any financial burdens of returning to school.
All I've wanted is a chance to come back to school and take my music courses without interruption or distractions, and although it will be close please let me come back to school.
Thank you for reading,
(Alfred) Andrew Groom.
