Petition Letter
To whom it may concern,
My name is Mikyla Callaghan, student number 20079694. I am writing to you today in hopes of being able to add the following course to my timetable: PHAR100 online. Before the add/drop date for courses, I went and consulted with a peer advisor where I gained insight about my degree plan and decided to rearrange my schedule to suit a new degree. I was unable to go see a peer advisor earlier in the week so I was in a time crunch to change my schedule before the deadline. I went into solos the night of the 22nd to swap a few classes and tried to enrol in PHAR100 when solus came up with a error message and said I would need to contact Arts and Science online and gain permission before being able to enrol in the class. This was earlier in the evening before the add/drop deadline, however, at that hour offices had already closed and I was unable to contact Arts and Science online to enrol in the course. I left a space in my schedule by only selecting 4 classes instead of 5 so I would have space for the additional course.
On the morning of the 23rd of September, I contacted both the professors for PHAR100 online and the program assistant for the course. I was told that I could still enrol in the course and that I would solely have to sign and submit a form back to the program assistant to be added for the fall term. I completed the academic change form within a few days and forwarded it back; I have requested that this documentation will be forwarded to you to go along with this appeal. After completion of the form, I was enrolled in the course where I could access the material and view assignments/due dates. I actively worked to catch up in the material I missed and began the group assignment that they have been working on. So far I have completed 2/3 parts of the assignment, with the last part due next week.
It wasn't until today that I received an email from Arts and Science explaining that I had to write an appeal to be formally enrolled in this class. Considering I have already been working hard to catch up and have completed assignments for the course I would like to continue with the course if it is possible.
Thank you for your consideration,
Mikyla Callaghan
