Petition Letter
Dear Associate Dean (Studies),
Please accept this letter as a request for considering a late appeal of my academic standing. When I received my grade report I was unaware of any mechanism for an appeal of grades. When I was informed that an appeal process for students with medical accommodations exists, the deadline had already passed. I requested a meeting with an accommodate advisor, but due to appointment volume she was unable to accommodate me with an appointment time until after the deadline had passed.
I am a third year player on the queens football team and the starting running back. I am seeing success on the field and starting to see success in the classroom. But I have suffered terribly from anxiety and depression. This has been a battle for me since the last year of high school.
Should this appeal be granted I will be submitting an appeal seeking credit standing in Bio 243 and Chem 281(Fall 2016) as well as a late drop of Chem 282(winter 2017). Circumstances that occurred during this time frame will be outlined in my next appeal along with the proper documentation.
I am hopeful that the board will consider favourably my request for late review of academic standing.
