Petition Letter
To Whom It May Concern,
My name is Emily Fenech and I am a fourth year student in the Life Sciences Specialization program at Queen¿¿s University. I am writing to request the waving of the 21-day/one-term deadline so that I may submit an appeal for grades received in the fall and winter terms of the 2015-2016 academic year. Until the 21st of November 2017, the date upon which I met with an academic councillor, I was unaware that academic appeal was a road I could take as an undergraduate student. This is despite having met with the Life Sciences Undergraduate Chair, and an academic council during the 2015/2016 and 2016/2017 academic years. I was never told of this option, meaning I was limited not due to my lack of seeking guidance from those recourses, but not being told of all of my options.
If I was aware that this was an option, I would have submitted an appeal within the appropriate timeline, and abided by the deadlines outlined by the Arts and Sciences Undergraduate Office.
Again, I respectfully ask that this deadline be waved so that I may proceed in appealing the grades acquired in the 2015/2016 academic year.
