Academic Plan
Should my appeal be granted, and the failing grade be removed from MUSC 481, I believe an appropriate sanction would be requiring me to satisfactorily complete an alternative assignment/paper or test (oral or written) as a means of demonstrating my knowledge, mastery, and understanding of the curriculum taught in MUSC 481 and my commitment to giving my studies the full attention they deserve. While I would forego a summer¿¿s wages and a break before starting at Georgian College, this alternative sanction would allow me to graduate Queen¿¿s with my Bachelor of Music and attend Georgian in the Fall, and thereby help me move on to the next chapter in my life.
Should this appeal be denied, my corrective actions near-term are slim. I have researched and learned that similar and likely acceptable courses are available in this summer¿¿s sessions at McGill University in Montreal; Crane School of Music at SUNY Potsdam, NY; and at the University of Toronto; but these all require submittal of documents of weeks-long review periods, and their application deadlines have expired. No suitable course exists at Queens during this summer period as well.
Another resolution in the face of a denial of appeal would be to attend University of Toronto in the fall session, somehow commuting from Owen Sound ON. to Toronto; in an attempt to attend classes in two different locations, somehow. I believe the logistics of this would soon become untenable.
In closing, I plead for a granting of this appeal and sanctions applied as outlined above.
