Academic Plan
The major that I am aiming to attend is chemistry and to do so I need to improve my fundamental knowledge in the related courses. So normally I should take the courses Physics and Computer science. However, because over half of the month has passed so that would be unlikely to do so, thus I plan on self-studying those courses and choose during the fall term of 2018. So instead for this summer courses I am going to choose the course WRIT 120. This decision is the result of the fact from the winter term I noticed that the main reason of my low grades was due to my lack in skills when it comes to writing. Therefore, it is important for me to improve my writing skills.
Because it is summer time and I am only registering for one course so unlike the fall and winter term I have more free time than usual. However, that does not make an excuse for me to be lazy. So, I mainly plan to act like it was during the fall and winter term, thou because I only have one course, so I would probably be only studying 3 hours per week for class time and 20-30 or more hours for outside class time studying. Because for the writing course only recommends spending 9-10 hours per week most of my studying time will be me self-studying science course that are related to my major, so I could be prepared for them next semester. Though, I won't spend the whole term studying I also plan on taking some part time jobs at the same time, so that I could also gain experience of how to work in a working place and how to interact with the society.
The main problem of my plan is my time management. Ever since I was young the problem of time management had always been a problem for me. It is very hard for to follow the schedule I make for every single day, due to my own laziness, and my inability to keep myself on task when I sit in a place for too long. To solve that problem there is nothing much what I can do but to try to maintain my control and focus on the task by performing certain measure such as locking my phone in another room when I am studying and working, unplugging the internet connection when I don't need it for studying, and so on. If I can manage to focus on my tasks, then I should have no problem with managing my time. I also worry that I may not have time for part time jobs during the time I have my course, so I am also considering spending the time before the course start to take part time jobs instead of the time during the course.
