1. Course of Study
My alternate program is BSC, because I'm in pending list of Bachelor of Science (Hons.), and I chose Gender Studies as my minor program is, and I am also in pending list. I am taking WRIT 125 and HIST 214 during this summer semester. For next semester, I will choose some courses about Math, such as MATH 221, STAT 268. Since I'm very interesting about gender studies, and film, I want to choose some courses about gender studies and film courses too, such as GNDS212, GNDS215 and FILM 110.
2. Full-time Status
To be a full-time student, I will spend at least 15-20 hours of classes per week and another 20 hours of after-school study time. For next semester, if at any time I fell I am not good for some courses, I will go to the advisor to find some help. I will be thrifty with my time management to make sure I will do well, and I will enhance my communication ability with TAs and professors.
3. Strategies for Success
In my first year, I got low grades because I misjudged my ability and chose a lots of difficult courses. In this year, I will follow up with an academic advisor or other professionals to ensure that I am addressing the relevant performance issues appropriately.
In the past two years, I haven't contacted with TAs and professors to solve these problems in time when I meet some academic problems. I will ask for TAs and professor's help.
When I have difficulty with the course contents, I will take prerequisite courses instead, plan regular consultations with the course professors and TAs, seek assistance from a campus resources like The Learning Commons, Writing Centre or the Learning Strategies Counsellors, join a study group, and connect with a tutor or peer mentor.
