Academic Plan
Dear Associate Deans (Studies),
Due to my extenuating circumstances, as noted in my initial appeal letter (attached for convenience), I was unable to perform to the best of my abilities during the past academic year. With this in mind, I have developed a plan to complete my degree, which includes taking a fifth year.
Along with the assurance that I will be taking a fifth year to complete my studies which will ease the pressure, I will also arrange to regularly see a counselor at the Student Wellness Center as I began to do near the end of my third year, in order to manage my anxiety and other issues. I found this counseling very helpful and I am committed to continue this.
Taking a lighter course load and speaking with advisors whenever questions arise about how to improve will help me make the most of my schedule and classes this year. At the end of the upcoming academic year and as summer 2019 approaches, I will also enroll into some online summer courses with a goal to increase my GPA and assist with the completion of my degree during my fifth year.
Taking all of the above into account, my plan is to meet all of the requirements for graduation with the assistance of a fifth year.
