Petition Letter
In Fall 2017, I was enrolled in two courses: LIBS 100 - Origins and Practices of Liberal Arts & WRIT 250 - Writing in Business Contexts.
A week after the semester started I was in a bicycle crash which left me temporarily disabled. Because of that, I lost my job and faced challenges to physical recovery.
I realized that I would not be able to manage the work load of two courses in this circumstance, let alone financially afford school after loosing my job. I had to drop one course, and I chose LIBS 100 - Origins and Practices of Liberal Arts. By the time I realized I how to drop the course (I've never dropped a course), it was a day too late.
Immediately I started this Appeal, but could not afford the 50 fee to submit it. To give you context, I had just applied for financial assistance from the government to support me until I could work again.
I emailed asc.appeals@queensu.ca asking what to do, and at their recommendation I applied for assistance with paying for my appeal via the ASUS office; however, I never received a response.
A year later... I am working again, and trying to organize debt with Queen's. I never took LIBS 100 - Origins and Practices of Liberal Arts, and I am asking that the course fees are removed from what I owe Queen's.
Thank you.
