Petition Letter
I am appealing to drop 234 ENGL (Fall, 2014), due to the affect the course workload has put on my success in my other courses. The course was not dropped before the deadline on October 31st because I did not receive my marks on the first evaluation until after the 31st of October. The mark was not in the B range, but encouraging. If the mark had been received before the deadline, I would have dropped the course, as the densest portion of my overall course loads has been during and following the deadline. ENGL 234 is an elective and the heavy readings is affecting the amount of time I can spend to succeed in my philosophy courses, which are mandatory for my degree. Mandatory courses require 14 essays this term, as well as in-depth readings. Because of this I am confident that my marks on the next essay as well as the final exam will not be successful. For these reasons I am appealing to drop ENGL 234.
