Petition Letter
To whom it may concern,
I wish to drop CLST 343 due to it being the seventh course i am taking this term and it causing a severe amount of stress for me this term. I received my first mark back in the course on November 12th, long after the course drop deadline and so was unable to decide whether i would stay in the class in the appropriate time period. Had i received this mark back within the time period i would have removed the course then, as the first essay i produced consumed a large quantity of my time while i wrote it, and received nowhere near a mark reflective of my abilities i feel. The rest of the marks in the course will consist of a long-paper due the end of November and 2 papers due during the exam period, which all coincide with the majority of work for the rest of my courses. Working on these essays, including the long paper which i have already begun, will consume the majority of my time in order to produce something adequate and will result in the rest of my marks being greatly effected. The stress involved with my course load and this one in particular has lead to much lower marks than i had achieved in my previous year. Withdrawal from CLST 343 would enable me to focus on my other courses to accurately reflect my academic abilities and would greatly reduce the amount of stress i currently am dealing with.
I hope i adequately explained my situation and if any clarification is needed i will respond as promptly as possible.
Thanks in advance,
Michael Nowlan
