Dear Associate Dean,
I am writing this letter to ask for special permission to add the course FREN 107, held within the winter semester of the 2019 academic year, even though the January 18, 2019 deadline has passed.
Due to very special circumstances, I have been unable add the course on time. I have chosen ECON 102 as my elective course at the beginning of the semester. However, I was not able to fully understand the course content and find it very difficult for me while doing the assignment, therefore I decided to drop the course in the purpose to lighter my course load on the night of January 28. After I drop the course on SOLUS, I came to realize that it is too late to add another course. Therefore, I am only taking three courses for now which makes me not eligible for a full time student. Furthermore, it would also affect my financial condition as I applied OSAP as a full time student.
I am a first year student and can not afford to get an incomplete or a failure on my transcript, for I am planning to get into psychology major which I have passion for and exchange in my third year. For the reason, I chose the drop economic 112. I have token FREN 106 last semester and I would like to further expand my knowledge on French. I believe be taking FREN 107 would help me better achieve my futher goals.
I am aware of the seriousness of the mistake that I made. I will be happy to answer any questions you might have. Thank you for taking time to review my request.
