Petition Letter
To the Associate Dean
I am appealing to drop all of my Winter 2019 courses for this semester of my Bachelor of Science online program (BCHM 270, GLPH 271, GLPH 171, PHGY 216, PHGY 215, BIOL 243). The reason for this is due to circumstances beyond my control that is preventing me to adequately performing and fulfilling my academic requirements. This is due to the events that I have moved for a work related job position in Northern Canada. This had come completely unexpected to me and therefore, hadnt given me enough time to fully prepare and plan how this would affect my future education. As a result, I have had difficulty keeping up with my course deadlines, assignments and missed exams due to limited to no access to internet sources to complete my coursework. This has been a major issue for me starting February 27th 2019 (the date in which I moved) until presently as of March 13th 2019. Furthermore, the moving process has caused me to be preoccupied with finding housing and starting work, which has taken a toll on me financially and emotionally which has affected my overall health and academic abilities of how much time and resources I can apply to my studies. Unfortunately I am unable to keep up with my coursework, along with the external factors currently preoccupying my life. Therefore, I hope to fix this by dropping my courses for this semester, as to not hurt my academic standing in the process. In the future, I would like to redo these courses and take a lighter course load when I am in the position to do so, as by then I will have a reliable internet source suitable living conditions. Allowing me to be more mentally prepared, organised and fully focused on completing these courses to achieve my academic goals.
