Petition Letter
Dear Sir or Madam,
I am appealing to dropping Econ 332 (Winter, 2019).
I am dropping the course because I will have to travel to Cheng Du to receive physical treatment for my homoplastic tumor. I have been diagnosed with tumor since the 17 and the tumors have expanded when I checked this winter break, sometimes compressing and getting in the way of things functioning properly. I was on a trip about a month ago and felt the ache became more consistent. Since coming back to Canada, the pain has intensified. Sometimes pain is so intense that pills do not seem to work. This is the worst pain I have ever experienced. Sometimes, I can hardly sit down. Standing is impossible. Reclining relieves some of the compression on my stomach, so it has become my dominant posture. Sleeping pills help me sleep sitting up. I have consulted my doctor for this and she has requested me to conduct a further consultation and a thorough check in a Cheng Du hospital l, which may result in (1) surgery to remove the tumor, or (2) further observation for up to 10 days. My parents have already arranged the flight to Cheng Du (a copy of e-ticket attached below) and my proposed stay in Cheng Du is 12 days, from 4 to 15 April, which may be extended if surgery is necessary. (a off-campus note will be attached once I email my previous doctor)
The Econ 332 examination is coming soon and because of the treatment time in Cheng Du and the undesirable physical impact of my tumor at the moment, I am appealing for dropping the course. After the treatment, I will come back to Canada to continue the rest of my study at Queen's University and try to catch up with my remaining examination. And this summer I will attend the summer online courses to earn credits and retake the course in next semester and suppose to get a desirable score.
Thank you for your consideration.
Yours faithfully,
Sabrina Hanlin DENG
