Petition Letter
To Whom It May Concern,
I am requesting to appeal to drop ENGL446, ENGL487, LLCU326, LLCU248 after the academic deadline due to an unsuspected illness.
On January 28th, I obtained a concussion. Since then, my post-concussion symptoms have prevailed. These symptoms include the inability to be in highly stimulating areas ( such as classrooms and lecture halls), sensitivity to noise, light, and physical activity, the inability to read, look at a screen, and sustain concentration. As these symptoms have continued to be a problem two months later, I have been advised by multiple physicians to refrain from going to class, doing assignments, taking tests, and taking exams.
I have missed ten weeks of class, missing multiple assignments, tests, and participation activities.
After meeting with my instructors, dropping these courses would be in my best interest to have time to fully recover and continue with my studies and perform to the best of my abilities in the upcoming semester of Fall 2019.
