Petition Letter
To Whom It May Concern:
I would like to file an appeal for a CR REQUEST regarding a failing grade reported for GEOL106, based on my mark going into my final exam and extenuating circumstance surrounding my final exam.
I calculate that I had 78 based on my quiz and midterm results worth 50 of my grade going into my final exam. However, we were advised by our professor that it was a pass or fail final ¿¿ so if you failed the final exam you failed the course regardless of what your overall average might be.
I found that this made it an exceptionally stressful exam adding to the fact that I had less than a day between this and my previous exam in my schedule. I have experienced intestinal problems for some time and it is worsened by anxiety. This combination of events caused me unusual anxiety and stomach problems. It caused me discomfort that affected my ability to concentrate while studying for and writing my exam and ultimately affected my final result.
I have included with this appeal, a letter from my Gynecologist who is aware of my situation and I have seen him regarding this and am under treatment since it happened.
I have already requested my final exam mark in an email to my professor, which so far has gone unanswered.
Please consider these circumstances regarding my CR REQUEST. If a credit for this course cannot be granted, please consider the removal of this course from my transcript as a secondary option (LATE COURSE DROP).
As you will see from my transcript, my marks are important to me and this was an unusual occurrence.
Thank you for your kind consideration.
Sincerely,
Alex Hall
