Petition Letter
Since the beginning of the school year my personal situation has changed significantly. My sister, Sydney (22), has been an inpatient of Toronto Western Hospital in a life threatening health crisis since October 2, 2018, well over 6 months. Due to this crisis I have been attempting to keep up with my academics; however, the reality of the situation requires me to move back and forth between Toronto and Kingston without warning to support my family.
At this time, there is no foreseeable date for my sister to be discharged from Toronto Western Hospital, and when she is, it may be necessary for her to pursue treatment in the United States that is not available in Canada. If this is required, I will be travelling with Sydney to assist her in receiving the care and support she needs.
I am hopeful that I will be able to continue with my studies in a more consistent fashion in September. My concern right now is dropping courses from this semester that I was not able to complete as a direct result from my family's situation.
