Academic Plan
My plan for improving my academics hinges on receiving treatment for my symptoms. I took a medication called Sumatriptan (a popular migraine reliever) during the year however it did very little to assist me. I am being treated at Fortius Sport Medicine in Vancouver and I am confident my symptoms will be under control to the point where I feel free to achieve the academic success that I am capable of. Aside from the treatment I am receiving, I intend to be more proactive in reaching out to Queen¿¿s sport medicine department for their help as I was somewhat hesitant to do this past year. From a personal perspective, I am committed to being more organized and diligent, as well as more open with myself about my issues and challenges. In terms of course content, I believe that I am capable of succeeding in economics and I am eager to continue in this department as a find the coursework both engaging and applicable. Another strategy I intend to employ is the use of a tutor, specifically in core Economics courses. I am confident that with these changes, I will be able to show my true academic capability. In addition, although my playing days are behind me, I intend to again volunteer with the Queen¿¿s Concussion Awareness Committee to help others who may be going through something similar and who¿¿s situations could be improved with the help of someone with a similar life experience such as myself.
