Petition Letter
My mum was diagnosed with cancer just shy of two years ago.
About four weeks ago, my mum was admitted into KGH long term care. My days were spent sleeping at the hospital, spending time with mum and my family, and caring for my two dogs on top of trying to finish my five courses.
Just this past week, we moved my mum home and only a few short days later, my mother passed away peacefully.
Things happened a lot sooner and more quickly than we were all under the impression they would, and so the grieving process has been tough.
Lately, my days have been spent making phone calls, visiting family from out of town, making burial and ceremony arrangements, and trying to finish up my last little bit of course work so I can finish up the semester to the best of my ability.
I am asking for exemption from my ENGLISH 496 exam, knowing that this will be my most difficult and strenuous exam of the term.
Grieving the death of my mum has been more than difficult, and my worry is that come exam time, concentration will not be any easier for me, making studying a difficult task.
