Academic Plan
I am in contact with the Arts and Science Academic Advisors, they are helping me with keeping on track with my graduations, and the courses I need. I have also spoken to them about adjusting my program. I am planning on continuing having regular appoints to keep on track. Additionally, I plan to continue my meetings with my counselors not only during the academic year but also this summer as I feel that dealing with my emotions when I am not as busy will help with my stress during the academic year. I have been working full time since the end of the winter semester of 2019 and this has helped me create a routine and work on my time management skills as well as being able to communicate with other individuals which I believe will help me integrate into the academic atmosphere more productively, I hope this will help me be able to join clubs and be more involved when I come back to Queens, which has been a goal for me for a while. I will also continue to seek the help of QSAS, Meg has recommended a few other academic resources to help me keep on track with my academic course work and time management which I hope to take advantage of when I am comfortable with my therapy and accommodation routine. I believe my biggest adjustment will be taking everything step by step, when everything was fresh, I sought after help and tried balancing everything at once, therapy, medication, school work, social life and all of my pain and I crushed and burned. I will go about taking everything slowly, that is why I am focusing on my mental health this summer and separating it from my responsibilities so that when school comes, I won't feel overloaded. That is also why I am looking into taking less classes if I were to come back this fall, I would ideally like to take 4 and if I feel like this is too much of a load, dropping to 3 courses so that I could still be full time.
