Academic Plan
Going forward, I have decided to not let the events that took place define me or what I can accomplish. This year I vow, to seek assistance when I need it, whether it be from friends, family and/or health-care professionals, instead of suffering in silence. I am making personal adjustments to succeed in my future studies, I have made appointments with student wellness, to discuss my mental health and to obtain the required documentation I need to receive academic accommodations. In addition, I will be reaching out to medical professionals to receive a personal counselor so I can better maintain my mental health. Also, I will be taking a lighter course load to ensure I don¿¿t get overwhelmed this school year. I have also met with academic advisors and the head of the philosophy department to discuss my plan to assist me in my academic success.
Although this is my plan for the future, I still need to deal with the past. If the appeal board does not approve dropping these grades from my transcript, I will be left with a drastically lower GPA due to circumstances that were out of my control. I hope the board will accept my appeal to drop these F grades from my transcript, as it is evident that these events were out of my control and resulted in extenuating circumstances.
