Petition Letter
To whom it may concern,
I am a fourth-year student who wishes to participate in Arab 100. The whole dilemma arose on the last day to add classes. I was enrolling in this class by around 6 pm on the 18th, yet the system (SOLUS) would not let me add the class onto my account. I then called the professor of Arab 100 to try and help me enlist in this course, and she gave the all-clear for me to enroll and obtained the permission of the department from this behalf. I was trying to fufill my degree requirements for the 6 credits I needed in order to graduate. Being in my fourth year, there was a lot of advising that I wanted to receive from the registrar's office, and in the end, I was extremely flustered and by not obtaining such advice left me confused as to what I needed.
I have a further letter of support from my professor to prove that I asked to enroll in this class before the deadline and got the approval. I really would like to participate in this ARAB 100 class as it is something I have always had a passion to learn. Growing up in the UAE, Dubai. I have always wanted to eventually pick up the local language of Arabic and feel that this foundational course at Queen's would be the perfect opportunity to do so, and henceforth help establish basic fundamentals of the language.
Best Regards,
