Petition Letter
To Whom It May Concern:
I had a severe abscess develop in mid October that led to an excruciating internal infection that lasted into late November that completely physically and mentally debilitated me. I have had to make over 6 anxious trips to visit the doctor regarding my ailment the past 2 months and am currently awaiting an MRI scan to further assess my problem. I was prescribed the powerful antibiotic Clindamycin and anti-inflammatory Meloxicam from October 27 until November 2. A few days after taking the prescriptions, I had a bad allergic reaction to the medicine and was back at the doctor¿¿s to treat the adverse reaction and also received a new dose of different antibiotics to try and finish off the infection. I was then prescribed Azithromycin antibiotics from November 7 until November 11. The illness was horribly consuming, resulted in me falling quite behind in my classes and ultimately I feel I have not had enough time to prepare for my ENGL 234 exam which is scheduled for Tuesday, December 16 at 7PM.
I have been in contact with my ENGL 234 instructor Shannon Minifie and she suggested that I appeal for an Aegrotat status since she is a sessional instructor and unable to provide an exam deferral. I have completed 75 of the course, except for the exam and the instructor has confirmed that she approves of this appeal. I have tried hard to catch up and have overestimated my ability to do so in such a short amount of time. I feel I have not had enough time to properly prepare for the exam.
Sincerely,
Andrew Lantz
