Petition Letter
Dear Associate Dean,
I am writing to you in appeal of the 21-day deadline to submit an appeal to return to studies after a requirement to withdrawal for one year.
When I received the notice that I was being required to withdraw for one year, I was depressed. I felt like nothing in my life actually mattered. I didn't want to get out of bed in the morning, I would have rather been asleep, where I could forget about everything going around me, and forget about my responsibilities. I didn't want to show up to class, I had no appetite, and when I received notice to submit the appeal, I didn't feel that it mattered.
After going back home this summer, my family helped me develop a good support group, and got me into counseling sessions, these people showed me the bright side and helped develop strategies to deal with my problems and take the necessary actions to continuously better myself.
Now that I am back in Kingston, and doing better, equipped with the tools I need to deal with these issues head-on, I am hoping to return to my studies for the January semester, and get back on the right path.
In this, I ask that you waive the 21-day deadline to submit an appeal.
