Academic Plan
I feel I was able to handle my course load this semester well and met with a school counselor a couple times to manage my stress and anxiety about the events taking place back home. I do believe I will be able to maintain my healthy study habits and balance a regular course load in other years as well. What has happened to my family is something that will affect me for years to come, however I believe if I take time now to look after my mental wellbeing and spend time with my family I will continue to succeed in school when I do return.
As stated in my letter, I am looking into possibly applying to universities in BC to be closer to my family. I have a younger brother who was recently diagnosed with Type 1 Diabetes so I would feel more comfortable studying closer to home where I don't have to take an airplane to see my family.
Other than attending university in BC, I believe there is not much more that needs to be done to help me maintain my academic goals. I will be seeing a counselor this year with my family, then depending on how I am feeling I may seek one out when I go back to school next fall.
