Since I completed my sociology course, I have taken necessary steps in order to have a successful second year. This year I have been able to focus on my course work and devote the necessary time needed for assignments among other school work. Rather than taking a full course load I have a reduced schedule in which I am currently taking three courses in classes I truly enjoy. I am passionate about history and after doing thorough research prior to starting last semester I was able to find classes in the Classics department that I found engaging, such as Greek Civilization and Ancient Warfare. This semester I have signed up for additional classics courses with the intention of majoring in this field.
I am in therapy in order to work through my previous issues as well as bettering myself to prepare appropriately for future situations. In addition to therapy I use Queen¿¿s resources such as QSWS and SASS as they have been a large aid this year. I have begun yoga downtown Kingston in order to relive stress in a healthy manner and plan on getting my teaching license this summer. These approaches have helped reduce my anxiety and depression which in turn has allowed me to concentrate in class or on the task at hand. My new medication has helped me in seeking the help I needed and aided me in finding outlets to help relive feelings that previously restricted me from functioning to my full potential. This semester I will continue to work hard towards my studies by attending all lectures and tutorials, as well as managing and staying on top of my workload. Additionally, I will continue to maintain my mental health through therapy and yoga.
Thank you,
Zoe Trebell.
