Petition Letter
Hi. I am requesting an appeal to get an extension on dropping a class.
I am writing to you in hopes I can get an extension on dropping my class. Regrettably, I need to drop this course as I will be unable to finish the next couple of assignments on time. My work situation has changed, and I will be working away from home for the next month. The schedule will not be flexible enough in allowing me to continue putting in the time required to complete the assignments on time. This was a sudden change and I did not know in time before the deadline. I should be back to my regular work schedule April 6th.
I tried dropping the class in Solus but it rejected, as it turns out I had missed the deadline by 1 day. I emailed my instructor, Lori Vos, and TA, Katie Hunton March 1st advising my situation and was directed to an appeals advisor at asc.appeals@queensu.ca. I wrote the appeals advisor on March 3rd and was directed to this online appeal process.
My intention is to re-enroll in this course as I am wanting to lay the foundation to be eligible for the BA history course.
I am truly sorry to be doing this so late into the course and would really hope something can be done so I do not get an F or be classified as ineligible for continued studies.
Again, I am very sorry to be doing this so late into the course.
Thank you.
Bill Maloney
