Submit an Academic Petition or Appeal

I feel like there was a large number of events that greatly effected my ability to perform well in this course. At first I was receiving grades I felt were fair but around late may I got news that my grandmother would likely be dead soon and on top of that my relationship with my girlfriend of 2 years ended. After these events I actually failed to submit a assignment because I was unable to get the energy to get up onto my computer, I reached out to student wellness but by that point the majority of the class was over and I feel I was already too far behind that I didn't have a chance to catch up. With my grandmothers death I also had to spend a fair amount of time with family, and with my relationship ending focusing was just not something I could do like before. I ended up doing therapy to help cope with everything and I feel eventually I got to the point that I could perform like normal, but it was already past the point of recovering my grade in this class.

In summary near the start of this course I was effected by events that made me unable to work nearly as well as I could have and I do not feel my grade was an accurate representation of what I was capable of in that class.


If you require documentation from my therapist or a death certificate, I can provide it although I want to submit this application today just so I don't miss any deadlines and it make take a few days to get the documentation because of covid (all therapy sessions were done over phone so I haven't had a chance to go in person).
