Petition Letter
Dear Associate Dean Stephenson,
I am writing this letter to appeal to add a course on Solus after the academic deadline of September 21st. I am looking to enroll in ECON111: Introductory Microeconomics on Tuesdays from 6:30pm-9:30pm taught by Ugurhan Berkok (class 3178). I am an Alumna of Queen¿¿s University and am starting my process to apply for my Master¿¿s at the Norman Paterson School of International Affairs. Although I graduated in 2019, I require the completion of introductory Microeconomics and Macroeconomics with a good grade in order to become a potential candidate for the program. I completed a return to studies form in order to enroll in any courses at Queen¿¿s for the 2020-2021 academic year. However, due to an increased amount of requests at the Registrar Office during these unique and unprecedented times, the processing time took longer than anticipated and I missed the deadline to enroll in Fall courses. I took Microeconomics last year after completing my Degree but need to retake it in order to reach the necessary grade to be considered by admissions. As I am applying to enter graduate school for the Fall of 2021, the requirement to successfully complete these courses with the necessary grade is time sensitive.
Not only have I found myself an Economics tutor, and organized my schedule accordingly to make time for this course, but I am also in the appropriate mindset to focus and achieve desired results. I would be very grateful if I were given the opportunity to enroll and use it to be able to apply for the next stage of my academic career.
Best Regards,
